Stacy was startled out of her daydream by her supervisor telling her to speed things up. Stacy thought she was such a bitch. Stacy turned and wanted to say something snarky, but thought better of it. She forced herself to concentrate on the task at hand. After all, this sandwich was for Adam, the subject of her daydream. She always made Adam’s sub with the utmost care. Stacy even put a little extra meat and cheese on his sandwich when her supervisor wasn’t looking.

She finished prepping the sandwich and passed it to her coworker and friend, Missy. She watched as Adam told Missy what he wanted on his medium turkey and ham on wheat with smoked cheddar. He always asked for pickles, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and just a light sprinkle of oil and vinegar. Stacy new it by heart. Adam ordered the same thing everyday when he stopped in after his classes at the community college.

Stacy knew this through pure observation. She had never said anything to Adam besides, “How can I help you?” but she lusted after the young man. She dreamed of him constantly. She fantasized he would see her working at the sub shop and ask her out and after a whirlwind romance he would ask Stacy to marry him. He would become an architect and they would move to a nice home and have kids. Stacy knew it was foolish, but she could dream couldn’t she?

Stacy knew she had little chance of attracting the attention of a guy like Adam. She was cute but in her early teens, she gained a lot of weight after her parents divorced. Now at twenty-one years old she was a big girl and still a virgin. She tried to look her best and dress in the latest styles when she could find them in her size. She wanted a boyfriend desperately, but her weight seemed to get in the way.
