"I'm not insane."

The remark did not immediately register with the movie patron as having been directed at him. He had taken his seat only moments before and assumed the admittedly intriguing statement had been part of an ongoing conversation. Then as the lights went down he felt a light touch on his shoulder, and turned about to find a nondescript middle-aged face peering mildly at him. He found no cause for alarm in the features--none of what he privately knew as signs of mental illness. When the mouth formed again the earlier comment, he felt quite reassured. Enough to say, "Mmm, you certainly don't look insane."
