"I ain't never been in a place like this before," Henry admitted, holding his wool cap in his hands.

The foyer alone was bigger than most of the apartments he had rented, back when he'd still had a home to live in. The mosaic tiled floor and mahogany paneling on the walls was ostentatious enough, but the tiffany stained glass windows made him feel positively vulgar in comparison. He wasn't a cultured enough man to entirely appreciate the excesses of the Calloway's enormous home, but it was big, and it was old, and from what Henry knew old stuff that looked like new was usually pretty valuable. Despite the charity that the Calloways had shown him the whole place made him uncomfortable; he felt small, dirty, and worthless in comparison.
