Dancing After Dark

Brandy Stark writhed on the dance floor, her copper hair flying around her as she gyrated to the pounding beat. The music pulsed through her like a living thing and she threw her hands in the air, head flung back, eyes closed, lost in the ecstasy of rhythm.

Hands on her waist jolted her from her reverie. Her eyes flew open to see a man in tight pants and a silky polyester shirt unbuttoned halfway down swaying close to her. A refugee from the ’70s, smiling at her as if they were lovers.

He was not her type at all. Too muscle-bound, too blond, too mean. She could see it in his eyes. And he’d put his hands on her without permission. She pried them from her hips. “No touching.”
