A cold gust of wind whips through Representative Brown’s window and scatters papers across his desk. They flitter across the carpet, landing unceremoniously between the endless bookshelves and a wire bin overflowing with shredded files. Disgusted, Brown rolls the chair back, snatching the papers from the floor and rearranging them in their proper order.

Before he completes his task, another gust sends pages soaring like albino crows across the room’s interior. Brown curses and paves his way straight to the window. He sticks his head out, sniffs the hint of barbeque from the floor above mingling with the stench of metro city pollution, and slams the window shut.
