The words didn’t come from any of them. There was someone else in the locker room. They stopped their circle of kissing, looking over. Kerri wished it was anyone else but her.

Tina, dropped her gym bag, staring wide eyed with a look of disgust. The punk girl, tattooed from head to toe, burst out laughing.

Very funny,” she said, still laughing.

Kerri covered herself up, suddenly feeling naked in Tina’s gaze. Why did it have to be her? That bitch. It should’ve been anyone but her.

What’s funny?” Kerri snapped back.

Just watching you lipstick lesbians make out. You practicing for the next frat party?”

Kerri dropped her hands and turned to face her. Completely naked, and pissed off, she took a step closer. Tina grabbed her bag and waved goodbye to her.

Attention whores,” she muttered as she went for the door.

Kerri went to meet her. “Wait, you’ve got something to say? Don’t leave. This isn’t about attention, so mind your own fucking business.”

Tina thought she was the biggest lesbian in the school. There was nothing that Tina wasn’t the best at. Even being gay she was the best at.

Kerri saw the tennis racket hanging out of Tina’s bag. Tina reached for the door handle, but then stopped as she heard Kerri laugh.

A tennis racket? Don’t you think that’s a little too…preppy for you?”
