It was stupid of me to go alone, I know that, but it turned out to be so worth it.

Superheroes, and superheroines like myself, do our best to keep the world in some sort of order. Supervillains, discontent with said order, do their best to disrupt it. Some of them have plans, others only have misdirected anger. The latter are easier to deal with but this time I was faced with a schemer.

Her name was Eve; we had crossed paths several times before, always ending in stalemate. I’d be happy to stalemate again, neutralize her plans without doing her harm. I didn’t tell Intell about this soft spot of mine – they wouldn’t be happy with me.

Intell had found evidence of Eve’s latest plot via a Russian radio signal. It was something to do with her water supply, maybe nuclear, very retro Cold War, or so I thought. Eve’s HQ – villains didn’t particularly have lairs nowadays – was in a Swiss chateau, which would be charming. Intell gave me coordinates and off I went.
