The Legend Returns

“Ruins,” huffed the elderly man as he paced about the chamber. “Modra on her death bed these three months past, and that young despotic fool on the throne without any real form of guidance except for the bureaucrats. Huh! Ruins, the entire galactic empire will be in ruins. Ten thousand turns of steady progress will all be forgotten if they are not stopped. Ruins, I say.”

“Can it truly be as bad as all that, Master Solar?” asked the apprentice who dogged the old man’s steps. He was an odd looking apprentice for he was a full grown man with a hardened warrior’s body. In truth, he tied his robes in the style of a combat master.

“It can, and it is,” huffed the old man, trying to catch his breath. Solar used longer and longer sentences as he got more and more agitated. “That young fool has already passed too much power into the hands of the bureaucrats, and if Modra dies before she returns, the entire galaxy will fall into the hands of the trading houses.”
