Tucker Roth stopped running. The tracks disappeared.

He stood on the trail breathing hard and looked to his left, right, and then turned around. On top of a boulder the size of a house looming over the trail sat the source of the tracks: a girl in the early afternoon sun, her face an odd blur, wearing a sweat jacket a jarringly unnatural color of pink.
