Kelly was becoming a brat. Of course, I love my daughter very much. She's been through a lot of pain, both physically and emotionally, but still, she was becoming a brat. I know, I know! Some of it is my fault. I gave in to her far too often. I would look at her while she sat, pale and withdrawn, in her wheelchair, and I would capitulate. Whatever it was she wanted, I would give her, just to see a smile on her pretty face.
I know I am not to blame for what happened to her, but if I had not been so angry with her father that night, I wouldn’t have said the things I did about him being late to pick her up for visitation. If I hadn’t upset him, maybe he would have paid more attention and would have noticed the car that ran the stoplight before it plowed into them.
