"You have to, Gavin."

Gavin Deane sat in the passenger seat of his mom's car, staring out the window in fear. "James is waiting for me. I just know it."

Cheryl Deane frowned. "You're a high school senior. Stand up for yourself."

"James is bigger than me. He's gonna kick my butt."
