The Bear
The 150-foot Big Alaskan was a floating maintenance garage during WWII. Now it is a make shift salmon and crab-processing barge based out of Kodak, Alaska. It has a top deck, a main deck, a lower deck, and a bilge. I would guess that the main deck is about fifty feet wide, a hundred feet long and twenty feet tall. During the war they could back it up to a beach and lower a ramp down from the two giant doors at the stern. Just outside the two rear doors is a fantail as wide as the boat and about ten feet deep, which now serves primarily as the smoking porch for the crew.
