My buddy is on the phone, and he’s screaming about gnomes.

“Gnomes?” I ask, while blinking several times. It’s twelve in the afternoon and I’m not fully awake yet. I didn’t get much sleep the night before, so in my distorted little head I thought that I might’ve heard wrong.

“Yes, gnomes! They… they… they won’t let me sleep! They wake me up, and I swear the heartless little bastards attack me! They’re vicious, vicious monsters!” His voice is shaky and wired, but then again do I really expect it to be anything else?
