When Benjamin, an anaemic six-year-old, moves into the house at 31 Burdon Street, he begins to see two other children around – a brother and a sister who are unnaturally gifted at hide-and-seek. Has Benjamin finally found new friends, or will the siblings want more from him than just a playmate?

EXT. FRONT GARDEN - EVENING
A grey autumn day. Dead leaves blanket the garden of 31 Burdon Street, an old double-storey house perched atop a hill, surrounded by a vast expanse.
The only thing moving is a solitary swing, roped to the branch of a tree and swaying back and forth in the chill wind.
