is known for great dishes such as pizza, pasta and luxury ice cream,
It is a country with a rich and varied food culture with many
regional differences from the north to the south of the country,
where food is generally more spicy.

Twenty
regions make up Italy, with distinct characteristics and specialties
determined by history geography and climate. Generally speaking, the
cuisine in Northern Italy is richer in butter, rice and polenta
dishes and influenced by France, Switzerland and Germany. In the
South the use of olive oil adds to the dish flavours along with
tomato sauces and includes more North African-style spices and dried
fruits. Pasta can also vary, with more fresh pasta dishes in the
North and dried pasta in the South.
