Sometimes the hardest part of writing is just beginning. For this little booklet I’ve put together ninety writing prompts to help get you started. That gives you enough to do a bit of writing every day for three months, or every school day for one semester.

The idea here is to ignite your imagination, and get you writing! Half a page is given for each day. It isn’t necessary to fill each section, but I didn’t want you to be in the middle of a great thought and run out of room. If you still find yourself needing more space for any of the prompts, you can also feel free to grab a notebook to write in. (I find that steno pads work well, as do the inexpensive, spiral-bound, single subject notebooks that seem to always be on sale at the beginning of each school year.)

You may use the prompts any way that strikes you – write part of a funny story, or a sad or mysterious one...or make a few notes for any direction it points you in. The important thing is to write, and to do it regularly! And if you don’t like the prompt I provided for the day, feel free to write your own or skip around!
