The Tribe

There are predators out there, and I'm just a frightened herbivore. I'm running, real fast. It's my life on the line this time. My ears are ringing, and the sound of my own heart thumping drowns everything else. It's hard to think, mostly it's just one foot in front of the other, breathing, not tripping on a twig or a pebble. Never tripping. If I fall now, I'm dead.

Somehow I'm still alive, and it just plain dumb luck. I have no idea what happened to the others, I can only hope they're okay. They are the ones who should survive, not me. I'm just a desk jockey, a pencil pusher from the twenty first century; what do I know about survival? Klaus is the tracker, Alyana the hunter. Me, I don't know jack shit. But I'm running like never before, and right now I've got super powers.
