CHAPTER 1
MARSEILLE, FRANCE
The man and his pregnant wife made their way through the clearing, far deep in the
woods. It was past midnight. It had been almost two hours since they first entered into the forest. Half running and half walking, they pressed on. The man supported his wife with one arm while holding on to his rifle with the other. The woman was panting heavily. They were both exhausted. They didn’t care where they were going. They had to get away as fast as possible.
