Before I present my ideas on disciplining children, I would like to lay out my expertise as a Child Protective Services Investigator. Yes, I was one of those dreaded social workers who came to schools and homes to check up on alleged abuses of children. The primary population that I worked with was the Native American community in San Diego, California. I learned a lot from the families I met in my duties and from the traditions that the Native American families and community held in regards to raising children. This book is a way for me to give back to the community and to the rest of the parents out there who suddenly realize that their children don't come with a users manual and there are no websites that have the make and model of your child listed with solutions for behavior errors.
