About the Cover
It is true what they say about working with small children and animals. The cat on the cover is Bailey, a Ragdoll that belongs to my neighbor. It took about a hundred shots to get one I could use. The moment her owner would release her, Bailey would take off like a shot. I have countless photos of my neighbor’s arm or a furry blur exiting stage right, but I did finally get the shot I needed.
About the Stories
Most of these stories have appeared elsewhere as part of multi author anthologies written to a theme put forward by the publisher. If you have read one of these stories before in another anthology, you may notice differences. There’s a reason. Stories written for a publisher’s anthology have word count limits and deadlines. My stories were as well written as they could be given the size limitations and due dates. But there’s a part of me that knows the story could have been better and more complete given more time and more words. I have taken additional time to further polish the stories within these pages.
Following each story are tidbits about how they came to be. The publisher’s theme is the match that ignites an author’s imagination, but story premise is the fuse. Until the two meet, there is nothing.
