Introduction
After eight volumes of They’re Coming For You: Scary Stories that Scream to be Read, the voices in my head—if not my fans—screamed for a “best of” collection. So here it is.
These stories are short and meant to be short. Sometimes this type of writing is called flash or sudden fiction. Personally, I prefer the term fright fiction or sudden death fiction.
These stories are also meant to be read out loud. [Instructions are provided where necessary at no extra charge.] But if you should find yourself alone in the dark and the spirit moves you, by all means go for it.
Oh, and remember to turn out the lights, scream like you mean it, and have fun. Because that’s what it’s all about. Not that hokey pokey business.
