Professor Earnest stood before an audience of pupils, performing his twice-hourly political harangue. The middle-aged instructor shed his spectacles, the better to brush his face with a chapped and blood-cracked palm. He clutched his pulsing stomach, toiling to endure his lunchtime indigestion, and trudged toward the pulpit set beside his desk. After rapping his convex chest to still his groans and wheezes, he donned his glasses again, the lenses clouded by a filmy perspiration.
