Chapter1:Background. History is the study of events, nations and people, in the past. The lesson of History is that people do not learn from history and that is why it repeats itself. Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 1:9; The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
The patterns of history can however be used to plan for the future by Economists, Planners, Intelligence agencies, Military and even sensible Politicians.
The events in Europe and Asia involved the Cape and South African history, just as they still do now.
In most of history: Follow the Money. Politics is about power, power is mostly money used to control. If you don’t have money you cannot buy the power to control. Cash and ambition rule. Then there are dark forces watching from the shadows to take over. 1Timothy: 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Treaties were made and broken. Friends became enemies and became friends when they had a common enemy. Rivalry was intense. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Chinese General Sun Tzu wrote in The Art of War around 400Bc and these principles are still used in war, politics and big business.
The first causality in any war is the truth.
