A Common Citizen's Declaration of Independence

I do not recognize the United States Government as a legitimate ruling entity. I do not respect or fear it, and I will not obey or serve it. I will no longer participate in its convoluted, ineffective systems.

As a common citizen, my government has failed me. I cannot trust my elected officials to represent me accurately or to provide for my basic human needs. My government does not spend my money on food, housing, medicine and education, as I want it to. Instead, in an effort to control the entire world and all of its recourses, my government spends my money on endless war, which destroys the lives of common citizens around the world.

My elected representatives do not view me as a human being. They view me as a slave meant to be manipulated for their own material gain.

It is time to stop electing others to represent us. It is time to stop seeking permission, instruction, assignment or aid from outside recourses. We must stop looking for leaders, saviors and experts to solve our problems.

When you wait for solutions and action to come from outside yourself, you become impotent. When you choose to follow another blindly and without question- when you choose not to think, make decisions or take responsibility- you put yourself under the rule of another.
