No human I've ever met can keep his eyes shut for more than eight hours without falling asleep. My old record is six.

My watch has ticked twenty-eight thousand times since I closed mine. I heard and counted every one. They don't know I can do that yet. The study I was in was triple-blinded, and they haven't found the records yet.

But they will.

They're using the system to destroy the system. You always hear about data mining—they're strip mining everything, destroying the digital ecosystem like there was actually gold to find. When the memes die, the rest of us won't be far behind.
