St. Patrick’s Day
March 17, 2012
Today is a big day for Sara and me. We have had people out to the house to party and have lots of fun on St Patty's day for many years now. Today we have friends Dan and Kerry, Mike and Jean, and the kids Nicole, Josh, grandson Colton and my son Shawn. It wasn't your typical St. Patty's day with temperatures into the 70's. So it will be shorts for me today.
The day starts out with our usual early ride up to Web Lake to leave a vehicle at the parade site to guarantee a good spot; there are normally 6000 people that come to this party so it is a good idea to get there early. Web Lake, Wisconsin is not really a town. It is an area in Northern Wisconsin with a couple of bars, an ATV dealer and lots of lakes and resorts. People come here to have fun. So after dropping off a vehicle it was time for us to start.
It was about 10:00 am and we were cracking open our first beer. I had been dieting since December and lost about twenty five pounds so I wasn't going to eat anything just start having fun, besides we were going to have a big ham dinner tonight.
We get to the parade and get the grill and full coolers out. The parade doesn't consist of much, just a few floats and a lot of people partying. I ended up having a couple shots of Irish whiskey (not a good idea) and did not have any brats from the grill.
