Bre was rarely, rarely, late for anything. Tonight she was late.

She pushed the door open and hurried towards the auditorium where the concert was already in full swing. Music from the high school orchestra hit her full force when she slipped inside and found her seat in the loft above.

Where’ve you been?” her sister hissed. “You’ve missed the first fifteen minutes!”

I’m sorry! My last meeting ran late,” she whispered back.

She shook her head. “You’re lucky Lana hasn’t preformed yet!”
