The air was hot, wafting in a way that made the eyes feel like they were covered in Vaseline, the kind of weather that demanded someone rub their forehead to remove the sweat every few seconds. It was terrible, and uncomfortable, and frankly what deterred most people from coming to the African plains in the first place.

Dannik was not so easily dissuaded.

Long of limb and packed with lean muscle, he had long been ready for this hunt. The plains were the only place to find what he was after, and he was willing to deal with any obstacle. He knew between the boiling sun and biting flies, the true danger was yet to come.
