The Man who Believes God is the Sea

There was a man who lived hundreds of miles from the sea, and although he has never seen the sea, he believes the sea exists because others more knowledgeable than him have told him. Those who have told him are more knowledgeable because they are older, wiser and have authority over him. They have authority because they possess the only book written about the sea.

One day when he felt strong enough the man asked a wise one who told him about the sea how he could get there. The other said he would need a car, a train or a plane. Which is the simplest asked the man? And the other said a car because there are no trains or planes close enough for him to get to without a car.

He asked the man how he can get a car. The other said he has to buy one, but only after he gets a license to drive it. And to cut a long story short the man learnt to drive and he bought a car so he could drive it to the sea.
