“Xavier, what are you doing?,” his mother asks.
“I’m playing, my Ship Captain video game. I’m about to win!,” Xavier responds.
His mother smiles at his response. “I should have known. But now it’s time to get ready for bed,” she says walking upstairs.
Xavier loves playing video games. He can’t explain why but it always gives him a good feeling to save the princess, win the race or beat the bad guy. Xavier often has a hard time focusing on his school work or other tasks that need his attention. His autism makes some things that are easy for others a little harder for him. But, the one thing he doesn’t need help with is his beloved video games. Everyone, even the neighborhood kids, loves to watch him and is amazed at how well he can play. Even his father tells him that he has the making of a true “Game Champion”.
