Beech sat staring at the food on his plastic plate wishing he were somewhere else. He was tired of this lousy planet and its lousy food. He poked at the lukewarm pile of whatever it was he was eating and then dropped his fork on the metal table with a clatter. Keri looked across at him through her light green eyes and gave him an annoyed look, showing how tired she was of this place and her partner's foul mood. This was the only place to eat on RD25, and after two long weeks of eating the same stinking food in the same tiny restaurant they were sick to death of it. If they hadn't been so low on fuel gel when the navigation computer fried a circuit board, they would have tried to make it to Celcor. At least there they could have enjoyed a little down time on the beach or had access to some form of entertainment. For two people who spent most of their time alone in the dark of space to get bored, it had to be bad here.
