Jacob sat on the ground.
“Am I sitting in poison ivy?” he thought. “I didn’t think of that before. I shouldn’t be sitting in the woods because I get infected and sick and I don’t have any of that pink lotion you put on the bumps you get from poison ivy.”
Jacob turned back to see if he could spot his wife and ask her if they had any of that pink lotion in the bathroom. His face was pushed back forward by a man wearing odd green clothing. “Eyes front, this isn’t over,” chided the man.
Jacob thought about explaining poison ivy and pink lotion and the medicine cabinet in his bathroom and how only his wife could remember what was in it. He opened his mouth and started talking except the only thing coming from his mouth was dry air.
“This is odd,” thought Jacob. “Why don’t I hear my voice? Is something wrong with my hearing? What is that muffled ringing in my ears?”
