Chapter 1

Madison Areis was an accomplished author who had traveled the world but made her home in the state of Ohio. She had written several bestsellers and the quirky ideas for her stories never stopped. But she never failed to take time for her sisters when they needed her. That’s why she purchased the immense house on the outskirts of Raleigh, North Carolina. Jenna had been longing to leave her long-time fiancée and Melody just needed Madison for company. She had never felt so compelled to do anything in her life and she took it as a positive sign.

Madison was sitting out of sight in her favorite café with her laptop and a fresh cup of cappuccino in front of her. She was solemnly contemplating how this move would affect her blossoming career. The more she thought about it, the more certain she became that this was one of the best ideas she had ever had. It would be a beautiful and serene setting. The home in the mountains had the perfect view through the study’s French doors and floor to ceiling windows. She daydreamed of watching the birds fly from tree to tree as the leaves changed colors and fell. She knew she would meet new and interesting people that she could base her characters on.
