Chapter 1 - Sam

I first noticed her when I was walking through the reception area on the way to my office. Normally I don’t make eye contact with the visitors who always seem to be waiting there to see someone. Maybe it was the fact that she was very attractive, and that she appeared very vulnerable as she glanced up from the magazine she was pretending to read. She looked at me, then dropped her eyes, then looked again. The second look was quick, a glance like a dog might give you when it is slinking away.
