PART ONE : MENDOZA

Once upon a time there were two poor farmers. They lived side by side in equal squalor, save the fact that one of them owned a scrawny goat that provided him with a cup or two of milk each week. The other farmer enviously glared at this.

One day, as the envious farmer was hoeing his pitiful crops, he encountered a strangely shaped glass bottle. Out of curiosity he uncorked it and—wouldn't you know—a genie billowed out.

"As a reward for freeing me from that accursed bottle, I'll grant you your deepest desire. What will it be, oaf? Luxury? Gold without measure? Riches beyond your wildest dream?"
