How to Photograph the Highlights of Agra, India

Don Mammoser

Agra has several photographic highlights besides the Taj Mahal (which is covered in my book How to Photograph The Taj Mahal, India). Agra Fort is an impressive walled city with excellent photography potential. Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which also deserves a visit by photographers to the area. Agra Fort is within sight of the more famous Taj Mahal, and Fatehpur Sikri is a short drive away. Photographers who venture away from the Taj for a day or two will be rewarded with images of fantastic Mughal architecture, colorful locals, immaculately landscaped gardens, and even a miniature version of the Taj Mahal itself. Add to this, the joy of photographing with far smaller crowds than at the Taj, and it's time to get excited about photographing the rest of northern India's Agra area. Ready your camera!
