The nude beach wasn’t everything that it was cracked up to be. In fact, the place was pretty well deserted except for a few male beachcombers, who strolled the water’s edge minus their usual bathing attire.
Still, the sea was enticing and Mark McCloud shed his clothes and went for a refreshing dip in the warm waters of the bay. He left his dungarees, shoes, socks, underwear and T-shirt in the middle of the beach, so that nobody would bother the clothes without his seeing them. Even so, Mark did not spend too much time immersed in the salty stew.
After his pleasant swim, 20-year old returned to the beach and watched the other people, who were sitting on the wide expanse of dusty, colored sand. There were a man and a woman just sunbathing and a group of young men sitting in a circle playing cards. The couple consisted of one man, far into the middle years of his life, who was accompanied by a curvaceous young lady with a lovely frock of reddish-blonde hair. Mark wondered if this was just a casual arrangement for the sunny August afternoon.
