How to Photograph Jodhpur, India

Don Mammoser

Jodhpur is the second largest city in Rajasthan but it never feels too big, or overwhelming. Instead this place, known as 'The Blue City', retains a welcoming charm, chock-full of friendly Indian life that softly mesmerizes travelers and begs to be captured on camera. Jodhpur consists of an older, walled city, topped by the fabulous Mehrangarh Fort, and the 'new city', where most of the homes have been painted a striking blue color. The entire Jodhpur area is full of fascinating Indian culture, where quiet temples, green gardens, historic museums and massive monuments, all bask in the fantastically sunny weather. It is a place that sneaks up on your senses and is always full of surprises. Ready your camera!
