Three brothers fought to preserve the Union during the American Civil War. One falls at Shiloh. When the second goes missing, the last brother must choose between family and duty to his country.
This is a work of historical fiction. Apart from the well-known actual people, events and locales that figure in the narrative, all the names, characters, places and incidents are the product of the author’s imagination or have been used fictitiously. Any resemblance to events, locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental. The autobiography of Charles Henry Dickey and his American Civil War correspondence regarding his brother, Cyrus Dickey, and brother-in-law, W.H.L. Wallace, provide inspiration for this story.
