Ethan watches patiently out the living room window. All of a sudden he shouts, “He’s here, he’s here.”
“Calm down Ethan,” says mother. “I know that you’re excited about your grandfather watching you. What do you think you two will do today?”
“I plan on showing grandpa the tree house in the back yard,” says Ethan with a smile that is from ear to ear.
Mother laughs, “Out of everything here at our new house, the only thing that you want to show him is the tree house.”
“Mom, of course I’ll show him the whole house and everything. I just want to show him the tree house first.”
Grandpa knocks on the door and Ethan rushes over to open it. Grandpa steps into the house and gives his daughter and grandson each a big hug.
Mother turns to her father, “I just want to thank you again Dad for watching Ethan while I work. It’s a big help and Ethan has been looking forward to spending time with you. Well, I guess it’s time to go, don’t want to be late on my first day.”
