Greta watched as Hans pulled the map from his back pocket and looked at it again. It was the fifth time in the past half hour. She and the professor had gotten separated from the rest of the group over an hour ago, and Greta suspected that he still didn’t have the slightest idea of where they were. Not that she minded all that much … she’d often daydreamed of getting some time alone with Professor Christensen, but she had hoped they would be in a place a little more comfortable than the forest.
“The enchanted stone should be just up that way,” Hans pointed to a small dirt path that appeared to lead deeper into the forest. “I’ll bet the others will be there waiting for us,” he added with a smile.
