He was sure it would go easy. All the lights had gone out in the houses on the street and the blue glow of televisions in dark rooms, too. One streetlight burned half a block away, and several dogs were close by. A hog-neck Rottweiler lived up the street three doors to the right, but even she had surrendered the watch to the breeze rustling through the trees.
