Chapter One - Ernie

Skipper Mole is Digger Mole’s brother and one of the many moles that live at Molehampton, deep in the New Forest.

Most of the moles prefer to remain in the forest, living happily underground, and only come to the surface occasionally.

Skipper Mole is different and is at his happiest when he is out in his boat, relaxing and floating about on the water.

Skipper knows a lot about boats and he owns several.

Skipper’s smallest boat is his rowing boat named ‘Ernie’
