Chapter One - An Expensive Apology

"Becky," Myra called out from the top window of the keep, "go get your brother and tell him it's time for supper!"

"Do I really have to?" Becky was more than a little irritated by the request. She glanced up at her mother from the courtyard. Still angry at him for making an ass out of himself on their shared twenty-first birthday last weekend, she harbored a great amount of respect for her mother and rarely questioned her requests. This time it was different - especially when it came to her brother's antics. Becky's long brown hair cascaded down her back as soft blue eyes sent a plea for mercy up to the high window.
