"It's over. Forget it. We're through." Gina said.

"Just like that?” Dean asked. “After twenty years of marriage?"

"You lied," Gina stalked the room in a high state of agitation. "I thought we had something special. None of our married friends ever did the things we did. Having lunch together almost everyday. Always making time for each other. Wanting to be together every moment. Or so I thought."

"I did." Dean said. "I mean I DO."

"Liar!"

"I'm not lying."

"You suddenly start begging off our lunch dates--- how come? You’re having an affair, I know it. You started coming home late every night, with alcohol on your breath, you were having an affair. Admit it."

"I wasn't," Dean said.

"She told me," Gina countered

"She's a liar," Dean told her.

"Then why did you suddenly stop wanting to be around me? Suddenly you didn't want me coming to your office? I saw you arguing with her in the parking lot. Not the way an employee and her boss would argue. No. It was a lover's spat. You two were arguing like couples in love do."

"Couples have a way of arguing?” Dean asked. “You and I never did. We never argued."

"Maybe we should have,” Gina said. “Maybe then we'd have worked things out."

"What’s to work out? I wasn't having an affair. She's lying. She's a trouble-making little bitch. She's disrupting the entire office. She puts stress on everyone. That's the reason I started begging off lunch. So you wouldn't be affected by her disrupting behavior. Then after work I needed to stop off for a drink on the way home to cool down. I didn't want to burden you with my problems from the office."
