There’s no place like home. Home is wherever you are right now.
Rebekah knew the minute the lights went out on her street that she was in trouble.
“I should be home,” she thought. “I’m in big trouble!”
But she had enjoyed the evening with friends, just hanging out at the café, chatting about boys and music and movie stars. Who would have thought the time would pass so quickly?
As she walked towards home, the sky suddenly turned black. Dark clouds rumbled, then lightning ripped across the sky. Soon she was in the middle of a downpour.
“Oh no!” she shrieked, and started to run, hoping to beat the worst of the storm. But it was too late, and she was drenched. Her make-up ran down her face, making black smudges of mascara on her cheeks. Her hair was now a mass of dripping tendrils curling around her neck.
As she ran past the corner store, she thought she saw something lurking in the alley. What was that? A man, standing there, his clothes dripping, staring at her. She sped up, a little frightened. But then, of course, as in all scary movies, she tripped. Oh great!
