After leaving you with a cliffhanger in my last book, do you really think I’m one of those writers that would make you wait for a few chapters before I reveal the juicy details? Did Theron actually hear Damon’s voice or was he imagining it? The latter is a possibility. Then again, if it wasn’t my imagination, might it have been the voice of someone else that sounded like Damon? That final question might have been asked by a new character that I’m about to introduce into the series.

On the other hand, it could have been one of our regulars, someone who was able to do impersonations and had a sense of humor. Who else in our group might have had a comedic streak? Mrs. Filstrom, the housekeeper? The family attorney, George Hanover? Maybe it was Heime, the brokerage firm’s CFO. Come to think of it, perhaps Dick “The Shark” Sharkey had returned to once again aggravate me. Even Corny might make a comeback; who knows?
