How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Yes, defiantly. I still have a long way to go to achieve my serious ambitions. But thank you to Smashwords I have totall control on every level. This allows me to take my successes exactly where I want to take it. It will take me longer than it would if I approached a print publisher, then on the other hand you have very little say and control over what happens to your work once you sign it over.
Who are your favorite authors?
That's an easy one. I adore anything by Adele Parks, I love her style of writing. I always look forward to her latest book.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
With family or friends, I am blessed with truly amazing friends. Not all of my close friends live near me so I don't get to see some of them as much as I'd like to.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
They usually get e mailed to me by friends and work colleagues, they know the sort of books I like to read.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, I was about 12, and it was an English assignment for a school project. It was about a toy I had as a child, I called him Ringo as he was a little furry toy made up of woolly pom poms. I got a fail for it because it was good and the teacher wrote on the page it couldn't have been my own work and asked me to submit another piece. My dad went up to the school to have words with the head teacher as my parents had seen me write the story in the family room the day before, he took the little toy with him to show the school. I then got a pass. That's when I released I liked writing and maybe I had a talent for it.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first book I read as a writer was called Playing Away, it was by Adele Parks. After that I was hooked on her books.
Describe your desk
Its a big glass topped one, usually messy, but I know where every piece of paper is. My man always moans at me for it, but its my office, and its my desk.
