What kind of books are you writing?
I am publishing high-quality themed cookbooks featuring inspiring delicacies made from scratch with natural food. My insightful recipes are kitchen-/time-tested and they contain easy instructions with detailed know-how and precise measurements in both imperial and metric units. They display appropriate kitchen tools and how to use them, provide valuable tips, list substitutions, they yield boundless variety, and feature full-color photographs to increase perception. Tastelishes cookbooks provide first-class recipes that are kitchen/time-tested showcasing flavorful, healthy and nutritious contemporary, old-world-style, and traditional dishes that kick boring, bland, and heavy out of the kitchen. The process is kept simple and practical techniques are applied throughout. My baking books showcase among aromatic oven-baked breads also fine cakes, cookies, sweets and desserts that attempt a different flour/sugar ratio which results in exquisite flavor and fabulous texture. Tastelishes recipes are simple yet glorious. The majority of dishes do not cook very long at all which preserves essential nutrients. With some recipes, the process can be streamlined without sacrificing quality. Many of the recipes display top-notch dishes that take only 30 minutes and less, perfect for weeknights, holidays, or festivities, and entertaining with e.g. appetizers, meat and side dishes, soups, even cakes, cookies, and desserts. Creating a bouquet of flavor, pleasing texture, and mouthwatering looks is achieved by the use of pertinent ingredients, applying the proper ratio, precise measurements (especially when baking), and working with the correct kitchen tools. How much experience do you have?
I am an experienced and accomplished cook and baker and I have passionately created delicious dishes for more than three decades. My love, dedication, and appreciation for great food was already instilled when I was a young girl. My family cooks on a daily basis and the dishes get always prepared with a lot of care. We gather at the kitchen table for every meal, get inspired, excited, and talkative. Fantastic food is entertaining and makes people happy! I mastered cooking and baking in Germany along with old-world-style basics and techniques that have been around and proven for generations. My extensive overseas stays and international travels across the globe have sharpened and enriched my knowledge, skills, and taste.
What are you working on next?
I am currently working on a new book about gluten-free, wheat-free, gum-free baking from scratch with natural ingredients, sharing high-quality kitchen-tested recipes for tasty, gluten-free fresh-baked goods that are classic and trendy, exquisite in flavor, texture, and looks. No strong, overwhelming, weird or missing flavors, no cardboard taste, no crumbling nor grainy rubbery texture but structure and elasticity. Textures go from porous, light and airy to moist and smooth with a tender crumb. The batters rise easily. Beautiful full-color photographs for every recipe show the actual fresh-baked product and an accurate demonstration. Only 3 types of gluten-free flours are used and they are readily available at local grocery stores. Recipes do not call for bean flours, soy flour, pea flours, or stone-ground brown rice flour. Dairy-Free options available. Practical techniques are applied throughout. My daughter has become sensitive to wheat, gluten, and dairy; she is my strongest critic and demands high standards. What are you trying to accomplish and express with your books?
I am reaching out to pass on the incredible feel-good value and satisfaction that comes with Tastelishes recipes featuring fantastic food which is gratifying and entertaining, it creates a warm atmosphere, and makes people happy, proud, and energized. Natural ingredients are exquisite and rewarding, what you see is what you get. It provides a healthy joyful lifestyle and creates memorable moments. I am very grateful that this passion was instilled in me very early on in life to benefit from it long-term. Good eating habits are life-changing. Quality is the best recipe, it enhances the quality of life. I make simple yet glorious, healthy cooking and baking accessible, because everybody deserves to have it.
What is your writing process?
With my recipes, I have a clear concept that keeps the cook and baker in mind at all times and the way I write Tastelishes recipes, it literally puts the reader right next to the instructor. I am writing my recipes like a live tour. To enhance the visual part, I showcase full-color photographs throughout along with suggestions, substitutions, tips, tricks, tools and how to use them, display easily-created variety, simple but impressive deco, easy techniques, cause and effect, what to look for, just to name a few, which is essential know-how that aids in success, satisfaction, clarification, it avoids frustration, and simply eliminates insecurity, creates inspiration and leads to excitement.
When you are not writing, how do you spend your time?
Besides writing, I edit and blog. I am always gathering new information and knowledge. I love to read, dance, listen to music, and I have fun with singing and playing the piano. My biggest passion is cooking and baking, which I do every single day. Being creative makes me happy and I like the charm of decorating the kitchen table for coffee and cake, festivities, parties, or any occasion. Paying attention to small detail achieves big outcome. I find great pleasure in shopping for fabulous food and kitchen items and I love to garden. I relish quality time gathering loved ones and I am devoted to presenting outstanding homemade dishes.
