Describe your desk
Mine is a nice comfy couch where I can put my feet up and my laptop on my lap and type away, with coffee close by, of course.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in northern Vermont, lots of forests and mountains, not a lot to do but be a kid with an overactive imagination, and I also spent a large part down in Massachusetts, which gave me the opportunity to travel and find new and exciting places to blend my stories together.
When did you first start writing?
I started putting my ideas onto paper about 6th grade. I wanted to keep playing when it was time to come inside, but obviously, you can't pretend to ride a horse around the house in the middle of the night so I grabbed a pencil and paper and let the ideas flow.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The latest ones I have going are a series of three YA books that my children encouraged me to write, from ideas they brought to me and I am excited to see where they go. A lot of their input will craft these three books to fit with their idea of adventure.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I love Smashwords. It is a great way to get the books out there without having to really spend a lot of money to do so. The first year on here was amazing, I wish I could get back up to those stats.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Watching the ideas come to life, and hearing how much other people can relate or get into the plot and feel like they are right there with the characters.
